Home Remedies for Dark Circles!



Do you ever wake up in the morning and look in the mirror and think you still look tired? Usually the reason we look tired is because of our eyes and the dark circles under them. So I wanted to find out what causes dark circles and what are some home remedies of how to prevent them?

Before we can figure out how to prevent dark circles we have to know what causes dark circles. They are many different things that cause dark circles. Thinning skin is a big factor and our eyes are already delicate to begin with! As we age our fat that that pads our eye socket begins to thin out revealing our blood vessels giving the appearance of dark circles. Sun damage is also a factor because it weakens the skin.

Another cause is Allergies and Hayfever. People that have allergies to pollen, dust, and pet gander tend to rub there eyes a lot causing dark circles. Genetics also play a large role in dark circles, especially families with fair skin and deep set eyes. Fluid retention from smoking and excess dietary salt also causes dark circles. Lack of sleep always plays a big role; iron deficiency and dehydration are also causes.

Now that you are aware of what causes them, let’s find out ways to prevent them! First always make sure you are properly hydrated, that plays a big role! Always be sure to wear a sunscreen with SPF 30 under the eyes to protect them form the sun. Make sure you always get plenty of rest!

Some at home remedies include putting cucumber slices over your eyes for 15 minutes, or cool tea bags. Vitamin K cream and vitamin C cream are good for strengthening you blood vessels. Also eating blueberries, cranberries, onion, black current, black tea, green tea, legumes and parsley also contain antioxidant pigments that help.
