New Curtains

When I first moved in with my boyfriend something was missing in the house….curtains. Now I know you all think that everyone has curtains but I am here to tell you not everyone has curtains! When we both decided to tackle the lack of curtain problem there were many different things we had to consider. First we had to measure all of the windows that we wanted to add curtains to. Now this may sound easy but when you have to climb all over things and measure awkward spaces it becomes a little challenging!

After we had the measurements of all the windows we were going to add curtains to, it was time to decide on the color of curtains. There are a lot of different colors and materials to choose from! Your options range from sheer fabric with hardly any color to bright solid fabrics and colors. We chose a solid off white material with a really soft pattern that would blend with the inside of our home.

This was another project where my mom was a huge help! After we had chosen the material, she was the one that put them together for us. After you choose the material you have to decide how they are going to work. Are your curtains going to hang down and can be pulled back to the side, or do you slide them from side to side, or can you use a string to control how high or low they sit folding up? Well we chose to have the curtains with a string to control them and they are called Roman curtains. We are very happy with our choice!

After the curtains are all put together the way you would like them it is time to install the curtains. We ending up hanging ours from our window seal and that is the best way to do it. Next time you are in the market for new curtains make sure to consider all of these factors.
