Apartments - Not the Best Choice
I have personally have never lived in an apartment. I have had friends who have lived in apartments and I would not recommend them. If you live by yourself and you have no other choice then what I recommend is saving your money so that you can purchase a home.
There are many reasons I do not like apartments. The main reason is the noise level, usually you can hear both your down stairs neighbors and up stairs neighbors not to mention all of the other complexes around you. Another reason is because you do not have a yard. Now some people would like not having the responsibility of a yard but I enjoy having a yard to work on. Also I do not like apartments because you never know who your neighbors are. Most apartment complexes have a high turn over rate because a lot of people that live in apartments are looking for a 6-month lease and are not stable.
The way I look at it is if you are paying someone money to rent a space you are throwing away money that you could be investing in a home, so the sooner you can invest in a home the better. The main things that you need to buy a home are good credit and some money set aside for the down payment.
