Searching for a car has a bitter-sweet disposition in the process. From my own personal experience, I can testify that constantly checking CraigsList every hour for a new car post can get quite exhausting. Even though classified ads like CraigsList and Auto Trader can come in handy regarding a lower price and convenient location, I really recommend knowing the types of vehicles you’re interested in buying. Knowing whether you want a sedan or an SUV; a new or used vehicle; or even the make and model is necessary when performing a meaningful auto-search.
Kelly Blue Book is an essential tool in determining what vehicle you would actually be most content with. When I was looking for a car years ago, I had absolutely no idea what style, make, or color I wanted. All I had established was a budget and a few interior/exterior options. So you can imagine my astonishment when I found KBB and all the site’s choices and decisions for choosing the perfect vehicle.
KBB allows the car searcher to narrow down the car inquiry as specific as possible, ensuring that the potential car buyer is seeking exactly what they want and need. The search begins by determining the price range that is being considered, then to vehicle type (new or used), category (sedan, SUV, hybrid, etc.), manufacturer, seating capacity, MPG, and size. Once the basics are checked, then a list of possible cars of interest appear and the searcher can choose from that list. If you think the specific searching is finished at that point, guess again! KBB then allows the searcher to choose from a considerably large list of features and options, like: air conditioning, ABS, moon roof, 4WD, CD (single or multi), sound system, navigation system, air bags (front, side, rear), power options, and much more!
Not only did I learn more about my own personal preferences and necessities of my future car from Kelly Blue Book, but I also became more knowledgeable about all the options available! I had no idea that a car search could be as specific as bucket seats, a winch, or even a snow plow!

Don’t hesitate to be as specific as possible when searching for a car. Being able to decide exactly what you are looking for in a vehicle can make your time spent in classifieds ads and dealerships a lot easier. If you think that specificity is getting too picky or subjective then believe me when I say that you deserve the vehicle you’re in search for!
