After visiting a friend’s house last week, I have been in a home decor mind frenzi. She had replaced her ideal, normal coffee table, with a wooden pallet! At first, I was really confused as to why this was smack dab in the middle of the room, but after quickly noting the mason jars strategically placed, the books and magazines stacked in between the layers, and the coasters at each corner of the “table”, I soon realized, “yes, she is using this as a table”.
Within 10 minutes of just staring at this addition, I had fallen completely in love with the idea. It’s cheap, trendy, and incredibly easy! (The pallet was even on wheels!) The table completed the rest of the theme for her house, which is a modern-day, rustic, country style. After finally settling in to coffee table, she then broke the news to me, “wait until you see what I did upstairs!”
I followed her, a little nervous, into her guest bedroom. On the bed laid pure white sheets, pillows, and an off-white decorative pillow that looked like a potato sack. She had a grey-blue throw hanging over the corner of the bed, adding a slight bit of color. The bed was amazing. So simple, but elegant and also, a little country. However, the real star of the show laid next to the bed—a huge piece of dark wood that looked as if it came from a fence. It laid parallel with the bed, as if it was a side frame. It looked absolutely amazing!
So, like I said, I am in a whole ‘nother world right now—More to come!
