I never really realized how much money I pay for other artists’ work…but wow, it’s a lot! I think many people do that—especially those of us who love “things”. I love the feeling of numerous pieces filling up my walls. You’ve probably seen this idea before, but I’m always inspired by the multiple, various different styles and colors of empty (or filled) frames hanging in no particular order at all.
Until I started seeing these frame designs throughout blogs and design magazines, I had never really thought about frames and what they can actually be used for. I love the empty frame look, but it’s not like you can have empty frames throughout your entire home and not feel a little lonely. So now, I am set on putting my own art in frames! The simplest things could create an extravagant display.

Little Taryn's Famous Tree!
For instance, a friend of mine had her daughter draw her a tree. In a weird, trendy sort of way, the framed tree drawing probably could have sold for $200 somewhere on the internet. I don’t believe that we have to pay all this money for these simple little things that are actually really fun to do as a DIY! I’m a supporter of many, many artists, but we all need to be a little creative at times, right?
Today I took some fun pictures of my little kitty, Black Button. Can you guess where these pictures are going to go? That’s right! I have a really cool idea I found on a blog a few months ago, that consists of wrapping yarn around a wooden frame over and over until it’s completely covered. (Great for winter decor!)
