I am SO HAPPY to that my garden is blossoming! Carrots, tomatoes, zucchini, and even a pear tree are sprouting and being eaten as we speak. There was a lot of doubt going into this summer because a lot of people were doubting gardening in general due to the lack of good weather, but it has happened!
Of course, there isn’t a plethora of produce, but hey, I’ll take just having a few grow. My corn never came in, (which it sounds like was a common failure this summer), but the tomatoes and carrots are delicious! I was thoroughly impressed with the rest of my garden as well. My sunflowers stand over 4.5 feet tall, the shrubs are HUGE, and my daisies and baby’s breath are both beautiful.
It’s also a lot of fun having a new garden because of the time commitment to it. Some people despise having gardens for this reason, but I believe that this is where a lot of people get their appreciation from for their gardens. They spend all the time brainstorming, preparing, planting, watering, waiting, watching, more waiting, and finally — WA-LA!
With only a couple months left of good harvesting, I am pretty confident that my garden will finish out on a good note!
I hope to encourage others to begin gardening, and help friends set theirs up for next summer.
